On 26th of March, i was in Kanpur to attend an official meeting; so after meeting i went with my son to meet my college time teacher Dr Dilawar Singh Sandhu and organised the Earth Hour event in a MUSLIM COMMUNITY AT KARACHI KHANA in Kanpur. It was a successful effort. Thanks to all.

Clean Kanpur, Green Kanpur
Kanpur is the commercial capital of Uttar Pradesh and remains one of the oldest industrial townships of North India. There is a big problem of solid waste management in Kanpur. But, the recent pact between Ato Z company and Kanpur Nagar Nigam is going to open the door for Green and Clean Kanpur. In Kanpur, this will be Asia's largest integrated municipal solid waste management project. The main aim of the project is to utilise the garbage after segregation and recycling as organic fertiliser, concrete cement blocks and also to produce coal-like fuel which would help in generating electricity. This will produce power from solid waste [majority of the fuel used in the plant will be RDF (Refuse Derived Fuel), which is derived from solid waste; detail can be read at European Commission Final Report on RDF ] and will be India's first municipal solid waste power project. The power plant is scheduled to be operational by March 2011 and will have the capacity to produce 15MW of power. It is an initiative under Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM). Now, the company will collect approximately 1,500 metric tonnes solid wastes from home to home per day in the morning and will send it to the plant for management and power production; the garbage collection user charges for each household will be very nominal [between Rs. 30 to Rs. 50]. Although RDF have some pros as well as cons but these secondary fuels, commonly known as Energy from Waste (EFW), Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) and Solid Recovered Fuel (SRF), will considerably reduce the reliance on C02 producing fossil fuels like coke and will be helpful to provide green energy. This is also an EXCELLENT example of grass-root-level management of solid waste with the mutual co-operation of citizens, government and private sector. Within few months, Kanpur will be a GARBAGE-FREE CITY.

UN Millennium Development Goals
At the Millennium Summit in September 2000 the largest gathering of world leaders in history adopted the UN Millennium Declaration, committing their nations to a new global partnership to reduce extreme poverty and setting out a series of time-bound targets, with a deadline of 2015, that have become known as the Millennium Development Goals.
The Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) are the world's time-bound and quantified targets for addressing extreme poverty in its many dimensions-income poverty, hunger, disease, lack of adequate shelter, and exclusion-while promoting gender equality, education, and environmental sustainability. They are also basic human rights-the rights of each person on the planet to health, education, shelter, and security.

Stop fighting on the name of Religion and religious places
We always give importance to religion and religious places and fight for these on the name of God but have you ever thought that whether God lives in religious places. I think, not. Religious places are just worship places where we pray; here existence of God is in the form of His energy or power just like internet or power supply. Power house, the centre of energy is located at one place but power supply runs through wires; if you need electricity then you have to make connection with the wires. In the same way, the server of internet is located at one place but connection exist everywhere through static or mobile phones or computers [with modem]; if you have to connect with internet then you have to connect with it through phones or PC's. So, it is clear that religious places or religions are just the ways to reach or find God. Controller of the Universe is the same coz sub-atomic particles have no religion which are the basic parts of plasma in the Universe. We all have the similar origin as well as ending of life. Humans must never fight for religions or religious places; EACH AND EVERY RELIGION IS RESPECTABLE AND IS THE WAY TO GOD.

Savings Village Model- a new concept to boost rural economy.
This model was successfully invented and implemented by me in Kannauj district's two villages; after that there were more success in many other villages. For this model, i selected Recurring Deposit scheme of National Savings Schemes. Then i opened accounts in each house of the selected villages, with the help of R.D. Savings Agents. Every house of selected village get saturated and covered with this scheme. This big initiative was started by me in Kannauj district of Uttar Pradesh province during my posting as District Savings Officer in this District and this model was finally implemented by National Savings Directorate, U.P. in 2004. This model is helpful in making the rural economy, STRONG. This model was also published in India Today Magazine, Hindi Edition, dated- 27 December 2004. This is a good model and can be easily implementable. [ UPDATE: "Operation Savings Village [ Operation Bachat Gram ]" has been re-launched in August-2012, in Etawah; details at Dainik Jagran ] Also visit e-paper of Jagran on page 03.]
